Verlon Thompson at the Depot - Saturday, Sept 26

Verlon Thompson

Verlon ThompsonReturning for an encore performance by popular demand... with over thirty years as a traveling troubadour, Verlon Thompson follows a long lineup of successful singer/songwriters from the Oklahoma plains including JJ Cale, Leon Russell, Woody Guthrie and Jimmy Webb. Verlon has performed as a solo and for years as the friend and sideman of Americana music icon, Guy Clark. Verlon has played stages from Barcelona to Binger and everywhere in between.

Verlon's songs have been recorded by an amazing list of well-known musicians such as Sam Bush, Kenny Rogers, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Del McCoury, Jimmy Buffett, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. His talents as a songwriter are equaled by his skills on the six-string. Verlon's guitar is heard on hits by Pam Tillis and Restless Heart as well as many by Guy Clark. He co-produced Guy Clark's Grammy-nominated "Some Days the Song Writes You", and the Dierks Bentley recording of Verlon's "Bad Angel" was nominated for the CMA Music Event of the Year.

Don Thomas of the Pawleys Island combo The Fourclosures will open the evening's show with a solo set.

Chris Knight at the Depot - Saturday, Nov 14
Chris Knight at SxSE in Myrtle Beach SCChris Knight will be making an encore SxSE performance later this fall. Chris plays an edgy mix of "Steve Earle-esque" songs and was last at the Train Depot for a SxSE show back in 2007. FYI... the 2007 show sold out and was SRO. This will be a killer acoustic show that you won't want to miss.

Ticket prices for this show are $25 in advance (online purchase) and $30 at the door (day of show).

Click to purchase advance tickets online via ETIX. You can email for reservations to pay at the door ($30). read more ...
